An Employer's Agent and Quantity Surveyor by trade. Over £250m of UK construction managed across contractor, consultancy and client-side roles, and hundreds of payment notices issued by hand. He lived the problem FlowMetrics solves.

BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, Oxford Brookes University. Fluent in the JCT suite and the Construction Act payment regime.
Alex trained as a Quantity Surveyor at Oxford Brookes University and has worked on every side of the payment table since 2018. He started in consultancy on high-end residential schemes for private clients, moved to a main contractor to procure packages and deliver refurbishments in Mayfair, then returned client-side with Stace and Circle Development as Project Manager and Employer's Agent.
His clients have included private developers, institutional funders, the British Museum and a London borough, on schemes from a £100m+ mixed-use regeneration in Southampton to a 488-home build-to-rent scheme across two towers in Leeds, delivered under JCT Design and Build, which he led as Project Manager to practical completion in 2025. Most recently, as a Senior Consultant with FACTION, he advised private clients on hotel, high-end office and technology workplace schemes for institutional and private investors, all under NDA.
Along the way he ran the monthly valuation cycle, issued hundreds of payment notices and produced the cost reports funders relied on, most of it from spreadsheets. FlowMetrics is the system he wished he had.

FlowMetrics is built by a small team of construction practitioners and software engineers. The commercial logic comes from people who have acted as Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager and Employer's Agent on live UK schemes, and who have signed the notices, chased the valuations and answered to funders themselves.
The engineering starts from those workflows and the contracts behind them rather than generic templates. Every feature begins as a clause, a notice period or a reporting deadline someone on the team has had to meet.
